Alpha Industries began in October of 1959 by completing existing Dobbs Industries subcontracts for Rolen Sportswear and Dobbs Government Contracts for Flight jackets and Rain wear. By December of that year Alpha recieved its first US D.O.D. (Department of Defense) contract to manufacture N-3B Air Force Parka's and United States Navy Shipboard Shirts. During the 1960's Alpha emerged as the go to manufacturer for several sytles that subsequently became iconic pieces of American clothing. Most notably the MA-1 Flight Jacket, M-51 and M-65 field jackets. The MA-1 was issued to all Military Aviators. The M-65 became the jacket for Army, Marine Corps and Airforce ground personnel at this time, and the M-65 in different variations was issued up until the mid 2000's. Grab your jacket and get on the flight line.
