Army ACU

The United States Army adopted the Army Combat Uniform featuring the Universal Camouflage Pattern between 2005 and 2007. The need for a neutral colored pattern that is suitable for use in combat settings that range from desert to woodland and even urban conflicts was the driving force behind this switch. In addition to changes in color and pattern the ACU shirts and jackets moved the bottom front bellow pockets to the sleeves in order to retain storage access while wearing OTV’s. The ACU shirts, coats and fleeces come with loop patches for holding branch and name tapes, rank and skills patches and unit patches.
